Arvil Eugene Boyd

Arvil Eugene Boyd, born November 22, 1946 to Arvil and Myrtis Boyd in Sacramento, CA passed away suddenly at home on July 6, 2016 at the age of 69. The family moved from California to Pensacola, FL when Eugene was 5. At a very early age, he learned to play the drums and as he got older he loved to teach others how to play like he did. Eugene graduated from Pensacola High School in 1964. Shortly after graduation he formed the professional band “Games” in Wichita Falls, TX. and took his passion for playing the drums and toured the US from 1970-1975. After his music career, “Gene” then became an insurance salesman for many years. Later in life, he worked as an insurance adjuster traveling the US working claims for national disasters like Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Sandy. He ended his life as a dedicated Wal-Mart associate. Gene was a proud member of the Harris County Republican National Community and also Grace Church of Humble TX. Gene was preceded in death by his Parents Arvil Grady Boyd and Myrtis Gardner Boyd, and his brother Ray Levon Boyd. Gene is survived by his daughter Angela and James McGee of Shawnee, OK, Kerri and Carl Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA. Grandchildren Aaron and Ryan Worley, Karmen Lea and Jayden McGee of Shawnee, OK, and Kyrsten Malloy, Mason, Zoey, Madelynn and Nikolas Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA. Great Grandson Kingston Worley of Shawnee, OK. Sister Linda Harrison of Niceville, FL, Sister Marsha and Tony Anthony and brother Mark Boyd of North Platte, NE, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and several nieces and nephews.
