In Loving Memory of James C. Atkinson, II “Jim”
Our beloved Jim passed away on the evening of April 11 in Conroe, TX at the age of 80. Born on July 26, 1944 in Houston, TX, Jim was the son of James and Lottie Atkinson.
Jim was known for his strong work ethic, leadership, quick wit and ability to never meet a stranger. He served as a Seabee in the U. S. Navy from 1962- 1964. As a Master Electrician and a Master HVAC licensee, he owned multiple air conditioning and electrical businesses in Conroe and Montgomery during the years of 1978 thru 2010. He was also a licensee for the Railroad Commission. He was currently employed at Texas A&M University - SSC Services in College Station, TX upon his passing.
Jim dedicated his life to his wife Peggy, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In his younger years, you might catch Jim & Peggy and their children riding with the Sam Houston Trail ride during the kickoff of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and you could always guarantee he was going to catch a quick nap at the most inopportune moment! He was described as a hero by his nephews; someone they always admired and looked up to. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he would often challenge them in a friendly debate regarding their views on life!
