Patricia Jeanette Boland

July 15, 1944 — April 19, 2024

Patricia Jeanette Boland sprinted on to Glory and into the arms of Jesus, on April 19th, 2024; she was born on July 15th, 1944, in Lepanto, Arkansas.

Patricia was preceded in death by the love of her life and childhood friend, Gene Boland. Patricia’s and Gene’s family were close friends, so the two grew up together. It’s true that Patricia fell in love with Gene simply for who he was. The fact that Gene’s family had a television, and an indoor bathroom, was just “the cherry on top;” she thought Gene was a “big shot.”

In 1964, Gene went on to make Patricia a wife, and later, a mother of five children whom they dearly loved; twins Kelly and Carie Boland, who preceded Patricia in death, went to Heaven within hours after birth having experienced only love and adoration during their time on earth. Patricia’s surviving children, whom she loved beyond measure; Jeff Boland, Leslie Ybarra, and Corey Boland. It is Patricia’s grandchildren (all surviving) who made her a “Mamaw;” Seth Boland, Emily Rodriguez, Ty Boland, RJ Ybarra, Gracey Curran, and Makenzie Henderson.

Patricia spent her life loving her husband, raising good humans, and giving everything a “Mamaw” can give to her grandchildren. When she passed, her grandkids were quick to say, “I already miss her so much, but I have so much to look back on. I got everything out of having my Mamaw as I possibly could, she was always there.”

You could say Patricia lived her days doing the Lord’s work by always telling the truth (whether you wanted to hear it or not) and making ladies feel beautiful, as she was a beautician in her professional life. Patricia was known to be frank, honest, and saw “sugar-coating” as a waste of time. One of the most favored traits of Patricia’s is that she was consistently genuine, sincere, and unapologetically herself; she leaves quite the legacy.

Patricia loved the Lord, so there is no question as to where she is at the very moment you are reading this. Her absence is felt to the very core of those who called her Momma, Mamaw, sister, and friend. Death leaves a lingering void for those left behind, here on earth, and it hurts. Jesus promises, though, that death is truly only the beginning; it is birth that begins the first day of trials, tribulations, and a tough race. Death brings eternal life with no tears, pain, or heartache. It is more than safe to assume that when Patricia took her last breath, she was renewed, and reunited with her love, Gene, and her babies, Kelly, and Carie. She now gets to walk and talk with Jesus and spend eternal life with her family who went before her.

Patricia’s passing is bittersweet. She is already painfully missed, but the smile brought to the hearts of those who imagine her in the arms of Gene and Jesus is simply and certainly unavoidable.
